Our Beginning
Upon his return from an overseas mission trip, Dr. Dell Crosby, a local emergency room physician, found the seeds of inspiration planted in his heart.
These seeds sparked a profound question: how could he address the unmet needs of patients in his own community lacking insurance or financial resources? In 2000, driven by this newfound purpose, he founded Mercy Medical Ministry—a humble initiative that started as a volunteer-driven service, providing a few clinics per week and has since transformed into a dynamic ministry dedicated to assisting the uninsured in our community.
About Mercy Medical Ministry
Mercy Medical Ministry shares the hope of Jesus Christ by offering low to no-cost outpatient medical services to those without health insurance, addressing not only patients' physical needs but also attending to their spiritual and emotional needs.
Operating 4 days a week, our outpatient clinic addresses primary health care needs such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, heart failure, COPD, thyroid disease, and various chronic conditions. Services include wellness screenings, physical exams, post-discharge follow-ups, medication assistance programs, and diabetic supplies and education. We've also established a network with specialty providers, offering fixed-fee assistance to uninsured patients.
Mercy Medical Ministry goes beyond healthcare, prioritizing holistic well-being—addressing physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental health. We share the gospel message with willing listeners, fostering a respectful and gentle environment. Our unique spiritual encourager program showcases our commitment to comprehensive care.

After a client is treated by a healthcare provider, he or she is then introduced to one of our spiritual encourager volunteers. The volunteer takes time to learn more about the patient’s current situation, as well as his or her spiritual, physical, and emotional needs. The spiritual encourager will also offer encouragement and prayer and attempt to connect the patient with other resources in the community.
Join us in our mission to provide comprehensive care to those in need. Volunteer your time, support our initiatives, or partner with us in prayer to make a lasting difference in the lives of our community members.
Our Mission
The purpose of Mercy Medical Ministry is to bring honor to our Lord Jesus Christ and eternal hope to individuals in our community by sharing with them the good news of Jesus Christ, in word and in deed (Luke 4:18). In word, by sharing the gospel to all those open to its life-changing power (Romans 1:16). In deed and service, by providing compassionate, excellent and affordable healthcare for the uninsured (Deuteronomy 15:11, Proverbs 14:31).
